Our draught ales win awards. Beer drinkers love them. They love the distinctive taste and delicious character. And the refreshing, thirst-quenching qualities of Palmers’ traditional ales. They love the fact we’re among the UK’s very best small independent brewers – and that we’ve been brewing fine ales non-stop since 1794.
The original Old Brewery at Bridport in West Dorset is where we still work to traditional methods with the finest ingredients. Methods and ingredients that have built our reputation over 200 years. Today, we skilfully blend these best brewing rules with scientific systems, to create five quality ales for the 21st century.
Cotleigh Brewery began life in Devon in 1979, in the old stable block of Cotleigh Farmhouse at Washfield near Tiverton. The original operation started as a five barrel brewing plant, with Tawny being the first brew and it has since remained one of the most popular beers in the South West. Immediate success meant that in 1980 the brewery moved to the historic brewing town of Wiveliscombe in Somerset where William Hancock started brewing in 1807. Its original owner Ted Bishop was succeeded in the early 80's by John and Jenny Aries, a husband and wife team, who built upon the brewery's success. The brewery expanded in 1985 in order to fulfil ever-increasing demand.
Notable early achievements, Barn Owl has been placed supreme champion of the SIBA Maltings Beer Festival in 1994 and has twice been a finalist in the GBBF Champion Beer of Britain. Tawny is a two time Good Beer Guide 'Beer of the Year'.
In 2007 Master Brewer Jeff Curd joined the business with an eye to keeping a watch on quality control. Notable new brands include Honey Buzzard, 4.5% brewed with local Wiveliscombe honey from David Pearce's honey farm, and Commando Hoofing, 4.0%, introduced to support the Royal Marines Family after 40 Commando Royal Marines returned from operational deployment in Afghanistan; the beer was launched at the Royal Marines homecoming parade in Taunton and was immediately said to be "Hoofing" (a Royal Marine term used to describe something fantastic).
The Yeovil Ales brewery was founded in 2005 by father and son, Dave and Rob Sherwood. Our range of handcrafted beers now stands at seven permanent real ales and a growing number of occasional and seasonal brews - including our YOLO (You Only Live Once) series of 10th anniversary beers and our 'Hop' experimental British hop development ranges. Our team's enthusiasm and passion for quality, service and developing innovative new brews, has led to a host of local and national awards.
The Brewery is set in the chalky hills of the Cerne Valley, the original home of British Brewing and follows a tradition of brewing originally begun by Æthelmær the Stout and his Benedictine monks when they founded a monastery in Cerne Abbas in 987. The monastery endured both plundering raids by King Canute (11th century), and the dissolution of the monasteries by King Henry the Eighth in 1539.

Dorset Orchards produce three distinctive ciders from traditional cider apples sourced from orchards in Dorset. First Press is a traditional still cider with a distinctive full flavour and refreshing bite, typical of artisan West Country ciders. Orchard Haze is a crisp, naturally cloudy cider made with traditional cider apples blended with a proportion of dessert apples to create a hazy cider bursting with fresh, crisp apple flavours.
Our Brewery, situated on the North Cornish Coast, is a unique place. There’s a certain kind of unavoidable energy. Something intrinsically Cornish, something inspired by being among the elements. Air, sea, rock; they surround our brewers who live on this stretch of coast. Looking out over the vast Atlantic, it is the ideal space to create exceptional beers that speak of where we come from. Every one of us has a passion for the place that makes its way into every drop of beer we make. At the mouth of the Camel Estuary in Rock, lies the treacherous Doom Bar sandbank, the inspiration for this moreish amber ale.
The sandbank is revered as a formidable nautical challenge that should be approached with respect and navigated with skill.
Using over ten years of experience in professional brewing, award winning brewer Pawel Kubinski, started Fine Tuned Brewery to combine his greatest passions- BEER and MUSIC!
We pride ourselves in our use of traditional methods using only the finest quality ingredients to produce our unique range of beers.
Why not pop in for a tour and see it for yourself? There are great adventures ahead for us dear beer lovers!
Since 2008 we have brewed some of the finest beers in the country. Plain Ales Brewery, producer of consistently great easy drinking bitters, a singularly awesome IPA (India Plain Ale) and possibly the UK’s best Stout (Inncognito), introduces its altogether edgier younger brother:
The Kult Brewing Company.
Crafted with the care Plain Ales drinkers have come to expect, these are quality, quaffable ales, totally full of flavour and with a smooth finish. Achieved by the addition of more hops late in the brewing process and quite often during fermentation.
And to prove I know all the rules and how to break them Kult Brewing Company hits the ground running with ‘Rebel’.
Rebel:
With a name like Piddle, you’d think
that we don’t take anything seriously.
but, we do – brewing.
Our passion is blending hops, barley and malts to create ales that bring serious pleasure, from delicate thirst-quenchers to thick, velvety stouts.
a match made in heaven – or in our case Piddlehinton in deepest Dorset In a small corner of deepest
darkest Dorset, the Piddle Brewery
is a constant hive of activity: creating, mashing, brewing,
bottling, casking, delivering –
and very occasionally drinking –
our great beers.
